Hi, I'm Jenny. Welcome to the relaunch of my website! |

I neglected it for far too long so I decided to start over. At some point during that time of inactivity, I became unhappy with my old handle and switched to Jenny Nightflower. Consequently, I got a sexy new domain and retitled the site. The style remained mostly the same, though I refined the design a little. I hope to be more productive this time around and make a weekly update whether there's something new or not. |

The central feature is my episodic fantasy story Nightflower, shamelessly self-indulgent erotic fiction. The idea for it goes all the way back to the early days of EverQuest. The piece of short fiction I contributed as part of some roleplaying I did with my dark elf rogue inspired me to start writing a romantic story loosely based on my first character, a half-elf ranger, but otherwise unrelated to the game. Once in a while, I added material or modified things, and this is my attempt to put all of it into a proper narrative. |

The protagonist is now a human named Jenny and the story starts much earlier than it did originally where she was already in a relationship with her main love interest. I wanted to have their first encounter be epic, then I wondered how they meet, which caused me to think about her ranger training, and that in turn made me ask why she wants to become a ranger. The why is answered in Episode 0: A Day to Remember. Unlike the rest of the story, it takes place during her childhood and is written in past tense so I consider it the origin episode. It basically introduces the setting and also includes a bit of foreshadowing. |

This update introduces my video games section. As indicated previously, I have been a gamer for a long time. I enjoy RPGs the most, especially those with proper character creation (read: female option). I also play a lot of action games, as well as some adventure, puzzle, and strategy games. Sexy content is always appreciated of course. |

I have always liked making screenshots of interesting stuff and usually kept some around from completed games, but seeing some of the extensive galleries on MobyGames prompted me to record and present my future playthroughs in a similar manner. While browsing there one day, I discovered what would become the first entry: Duke Nudem, a promotional game for Duke Nukem Forever that had escaped my attention. |

I was curious and it seemed like a fun way to design and test my gallery so I eventually looked it up. The official site had been closed down, but there were some alternatives. After playing through one of them and unlocking the gallery, it turned out the links to the pictures didn't work. I can be very stubborn so I tried a few other sites and finally found one where the gallery was working, but only in part. Now I was really annoyed, but still not ready to give up. |

Braving the depths of the internet, I searched for more info and actually happened across a file collection with the complete gallery in high resolution and videos of all sequences. Unfortunately, two of the pics were corrupted so I didn't include them, and I also preferred to make my own video. The rest of the photos I resized to half dimensions because they were unnecessarily large. |

My original plan for all the games I'm interested in was to play through them in chronological order, but I'd probably never get to play any of the more recent ones this way except for MMOs. Even so, I started with the oldest game I'll ever finish: Akalabeth: World of Doom. |

The precursor to the Ultima series is too primitive to be much fun. Without the savegame function included in the much later DOS conversion, I would have never bothered to complete it. I played a fighter as usual, who, unlike the mage, can't control the magic amulet. One of the lower dungeon levels in my game had an unreachable ladder and forced me to create one with the unreliable amulet, making the last part a total pain. I would have given up at that point without being able to continue from my last save. |

Like in other old RPGs, the player character defaults to male without there being a choice in the matter, but it's not even stated anywhere, the character is simply being referred to in that way in a few instances. And the death screen only makes it weirder. This is by far my biggest annoyance with gaming, and I usually avoid such games, unless they're part of a series I like, which is the case here. |

Overall, I found this to be quite poor so it gets a 3/10. |

GOG recently had a great sale for D&D games where I got all the classic ones I didn't have yet, including the Eye of the Beholder trilogy. I have been wanting to replay those for a while and just waited for a good sale, so I couldn't resist playing through the first one soon after. |
|

Despite numerous flaws, like the identification system for magic items, lots of secret walls, not much of a story, limited interaction with NPCs, and special bonus quests that are almost impossible to complete even with the clue book, I love the basic gameplay and the atmosphere, so it gets a 9/10. |
|
|
This entry has extensive comments, and I tried to make it into a coherent adventure, which means I actually have to pay attention to everything! Subsequent game entries will be in the same staged style. |

I also added a zoom option for pictures smaller than the display frame which can be toggled from the bottom bar. |

Here's my playthrough for The Legend of Darkmoon, the second part of the Eye of the Beholder trilogy. |

This one improves some aspects, like having more of a story and lore, a spell to identify items, more interaction with NPCs, and characters making comments on various things. Otherwise, the gameplay is basically the same. Combat is more challenging, though respawns can be a bit tedious. There are a few dead ends and more illusionary walls with no indications, though quite a few are pointed out by the party and a spell can be used to see through them, but that's only later in the game. Despite all of the improvements, I just don't find it any more fun than the first part, so it also gets a 9/10. |

Commentary was pretty fun here due to vulva-shaped holes in the giant ants section, the phallic icon for the bone key, all the magic mouths, and a giant frisking the party with a tentacle. I didn't really notice that stuff when I played it through way back when. |

The final game of the Eye of the Beholder trilogy makes a comparatively bad first impression and it never really recovers. The intro isn't as atmospheric as the other two, but far worse is that it shows a generic male party. And this also applies to a picture in the middle of the game and the ending. Seriously, fuck that. This is supposed to be my adventure, with my created party, and this shit just destroys my immersion. |

In addition, the new or modified game engine just doesn't feel as smooth, and I liked the previous interface better too. The font is harder to read. The aesthetics aren't as nice either, right when starting the game the sound effects and animations of the first monsters are just poor. It reminds me of the changes going from the second The Bard's Tale to the third one. I never got far there, maybe someday I'll get to it. |

Then there's the short story in the manual. Now I appreciate additional background material, but not only does the story have little in common with the one in the game, it even contradicts it. Yeah, that's just stupid. It's not all bad though. The healing option during rest will heal more than one party member now. There's also an all attack button, making combat much more convenient. It actually makes things a bit too easy later on, and the last fight is a total joke. Loot is done fairly well, with a nice variety of items to be found, although shoes are no longer en vogue it seems because there are none anywhere. |

There are also a lot of different spells in this one, though the power of the all attack-button makes most of them unnecessary. And all the higher level spells are mostly useless anyway due to the lack of experience, an issue all the games in the series suffer from. Unless importing a previous party, mages just won't be at a high enough level. This one also has level limits for non-humans, though they shouldn't make too much of a difference. |

Game design is a mixed bag too. There's one ridiculous puzzle, but otherwise they're on the easier side of things, and the secrets aren't too difficult to find either. But there's also tedious stuff like chopping down trees and an underwater section with an anti-magic zone. I did like the last area though, and not only because of the naked Lathander statues. Ignoring all the annoying stuff, the gameplay is still fun enough, and I like this type of game in general. A 7/10 seems about right. |

Rewrote Episode 0 once more. I hadn't been entirely happy with it, but I think I got it right this time. I'll go over the other available episodes as well and then try to get new ones done. I just haven't felt like writing in a while. It comes and goes. |

As for games, I have been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic again. I planned to make videos for a few other class stories, but the last update introduced a bug with the eyes. I still finished the Jedi Consular part I had been working on, but in hindsight I should have waited until they fix it. |

Really bad timing on their part, since I'm also eager to continue the story on my main, now that I have decided how to handle the relationship with Doc while he's gone. I married the guy and just can't do another relationship, sex with other guys is out too, everything else is fair game. Gotta hit all the flirt options, or at least most of them. Only took me like a year to figure that out. |

The YouTube share feature seems to hate me and Twitter messages are too short anyway, so I might as well include a link to my latest video here, along with an embed as long as it's a recent update. This one covers all the solo missions and flashpoints between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. I can't stand the HK series of droids, I have to say. Soloing a non-scaling Lost Island was interesting though, it used to be my favorite flashpoint before it got nerfed. Part 37 is missing for now because capturing operation cutscenes without interference is super annoying. |

I did some additional modifications to Episode 0, but they're very minor, and I'm going to leave it alone from now on. Unless I'm being made aware of mistakes that is, but that applies to all episodes of course. Episode 1 was already in a good state after the previous update, so I only made cosmetic changes for the most part. |

In contrast, I was never quite satisfied with Episode 2. The conversation between Jenny and her sister in particular felt quite clunky, so I rewrote a large part of it. I think I made it work now, it has a much better flow and also makes more sense. The wording at the end got an update as well since I didn't really like it. |
|
|
I'm reasonably happy with the new versions. I'll update the remaining four episodes and then work on new stuff. I updated the Fiction page with names (might not be final) of upcoming episodes, and also added titles for individual story arcs. It's not that I don't have material I'd like to write, it's just so damn hard for me to get it right. |

The video for this week is the conclusion of the Dread Master storyline from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Nothing sexy here, though there are a lot of tentacles on Oricon. Brontes actually controlled a bunch of them directly. She was really adept at using them too, prodding my armor to find openings in my defenses. And she found them all. Oh, Brontes, my dark mistress! Wait, where was I? Oh yeah, tentacles all over me! Mmm, there are so many of them... no, I must remember the Jedi Code! There is no passion, there is serenity... no... so much passion... aah... and such sweet peace after releasing it. |

Anyway, I really liked the Dread Masters. They made good villains and had a proper buildup, from their release from their prison on Belsavis to the end of their machinations on Oricon. They were directly involved in almost all the operations up to this point, and the greatest threat to the galaxy after the conclusion of the individual class storylines. |

|
|
|
I had to skip two more parts. The first one is Makeb since the last Shroud mission requires a group and I don't want other people in my cutscenes. According to a statement a while back, they were looking into a way to make it possible to solo, but there's no way to know if that's even on the radar anymore. The second one is another interlude called A War of Destinies. I still need to kill the Eyeless, the operation boss from the Rakghoul event. Hopefully, that won't be too difficult after the upcoming server merge. |

I never intended for Episode 5 to be so long and have so many sexy scenes, but that's the way it developed. This presented a problem, because the rest of the story doesn't work if Jenny has sex at this point. One scene in particular was a really good opportunity for it and probably would have lead there if I had let it unfold naturally. I was fairly unhappy with the writing of this episode though and changed it a lot, which is why this update is so late. One of the sexy scenes turned out differently and basically made the problematic scene redundant so I took it out completely. I also improved the dialogue and feel this version works much better now. |

In comparison, Episode 6 is short and only needed minor adjustments. Despite the subject matter, this one was easier to write than I thought and quite fun too. I got to use so many other words! I might have even overdone it a bit, but most of the story will be rather upbeat, so this was a nice change of pace. And that wraps up the first part. Since it's so close to the end of the year, I have decided to continue with it next year. There will be new episodes in January for sure. |

In other news, the eyes in Star Wars: The Old Republic still haven't been fixed. The reflection looks fine now, but some of the colors are still off, including the dark brown of my avatar. I won't be creating any more SWTOR videos until this issue has been resolved. |

Time for a New Year's resolution. Let's see, perhaps I should stop making puns? Never, the punnings will continue until morale improves! Yeah... well, my motto for next year is MOAR! Write more, finish more games, and install more of my render stuff so I might render something again this decade. It's close enough to the next year so I've added a new Nightflower episode. Parting Gifts |

In Episode 7, Jenny takes her first step towards her goal of becoming a ranger. Of course that means leaving home, and she's very happy for all the nice parting gifts she received. She packs her things and says goodbye to her family, but she also has to confront her recent past in The Departure. |
|
|
Writing this episode didn't appeal to me at all at first, but I wanted to know everything Jenny takes with her so I detailed all of it. It also provides some information on what happened since the last episode some months back. And there's a hint about the future direction of the story, but that is made clear in the following episode anyway. So there's no sexy scene in this one, but the next episode will have one again, and the story arc after this short one will have a ton... a fuckton! I think I deserve to be punished now... |
